For me anxiety was a symptom of poor gut health, leaky gut, candida overgrowth, and food intolerances. By focusing on gut healing in 2017 my anxiety improved significantly and eventually disappeared.

Over the last few years however I have had ups and downs with anxiety. During the covid lockdowns I reintroduced gluten and dairy to my diet, and in the process of allowing myself to eat whatever I wanted due to experiencing very little symptoms. However I developed binge eating which lead to some previous symptoms, including anxiety and reflux, reappearing.

BREATHE
Diaphragmatic breathing. Breathe deep with stomach. Lower breathing and heart rate.

GOALS
Think of the goals you want to accomplish. 'What do I want to accomplish today?'

FAITH
Have faith in yourself.
Trust yourself that you can overcome anxiety.
'I can do it and I will.'

'I will not fear anxiety. I will embrace anxiety and being uncomfortable. I will fight to live my life and what I want to accomplish in my life' 

'I am not afraid and have nothing to fear. To anxiety, you will see. Trust me. I am safe. I am okay and I will be okay. Anxiety is trying to keep me safe, and it is not my enemy. It is helping me to drop bad habits. Anxiety is an opportunity to grow. There is no need to respond in fear, so I can let it come to me.' 
'Anxiety is like a bully. The more I fight it the more power I give it. Bullies thrive off of the pain of others, they feel they are being successful in wanting to control and feel superior, whilst making others fearful and demeaned.'

'Anxiety thrives like a bully. I will stand up to it and face it. I will fight through. I will stand my ground and I will heal. I will turn my anxiety experience into a positive one.' 
'What do I want to accomplish today? I will not distract myself. Face what triggers me. To move forward, I must face my fears and anxieties. I will not fear my future, I am excited by it. I am excited to face anxiety and overcoming my fears. Exposure and symptoms are a part of the process. Visualize what I want to accomplish.  Visualize the life I want to progress towards. I can do this, it is possible.'
'To anxiety, I am thankful. I am thankful when I do not have symptoms. I am thankful that you keep me safe, but I do not need you. I will celebrate my accomplishments. I will celebrate the journey and face it. I am excited for this change. I am thankful for anxiety in helping me realise what I want to accomplish today and in my life.'
